In the heart of Manhattan's trendy East Side, Pita Grill is a casual Kosher, Modern Mediterranean dining destination that’s been a treasured New York City staple for the last 15 years.
Opening in 2010 on the corner of 57th and 2nd in a bustling section of Midtown Manhattan, “Pita Grill was one of the first kosher restaurants in a neighborhood hungry for Kosher options,” recalls restaurant owner, Shani Biton.
Serving customers from Central Park to SOHO and Brooklyn to Battery Park, this vibrant kosher sandwich shop seamlessly serves those seeking a mix of authentic Jewish cooking and healthy Mediterranean ingredients with the convenience of a fast-casual dining experience.

“Our menu includes a variety of juicy burgers, sandwiches, and platters,” Shani added, “featuring classic grilled proteins like chicken, beef, and turkey, as well as meatballs, hummus, and breaded chicken,” all of which can be stuffed inside a pita pocket or wrap or layered on a fresh baguette.
For fitness enthusiasts, Pita Grill offers a variety of “Gym Plates,” including the Muscle Maker, Body Toner, Distance Runner, Cardio, and Hardcore, and plant-based offerings like the Impossible Burger.

In addition to the classics, other favorites include the Shawarma Rice Bowl with Santa Fe Sauce; Spider Rolls, falafel, and the new SmashBurger, with specialty dishes like shawarma, schnitzel, and sushi also high up on the most-wanted list.
The counter is filled everyday with a wide display of freshly homemade cold salads like Chickpea Salad, Moroccan Eggplant, Israeli Salad, and Babaganoush, immediately ready for a quick bite or taken to go.

When asked what she’s recommends to a first-time customer, Shani suggested:

Sushi
A unique culinary experience for locals and visitors, families, and corporate clientele, Pita Grill offers seating, take-out, and delivery throughout the city.
From Soho to Southampton, Pita Grill also offers custom catering, including their “most-talked-about” Kosher Sushi.

The creations of Sushi Chef, Shawan Sherpa, “one of the finest sushi chefs in NYC,” offered Shani, these masterpiece platters are delivered across the five boroughs and to the tip of Montauk for most Jewish holidays (except Passover), Shiva, Kiddush; and events like Bar/Bat/B'nai Mitzvah, the Super Bowl, New Year's Eve, corporate lunches, and birthday celebrations.
Strict Kosher Guidelines
From mouthwatering sandwiches to the freshest sides, Matzo Ball Soup to Meatballs, Pita Grill serves up a menu that satisfies diverse tastes, while adhering to strict kosher guidelines.
“Each day, from open to close,” Shani explained, “a Rabbi is on site washing the produce, monitoring ingredients, and turning on the gas to ensure the food is considered kosher according to the strictest interpretations of Jewish law.”
This practice, in keeping with the Jewish Law, Bishul Akum, assures that all food is at least partially prepared by a Jew. “And upon request, the rabbi will also place the food on the grill.”

With a complete menu of Kosher mains and healthy sides, Pita Grill also offers a variety of Shabbat Specials:

Green Practices
With more and more New Yorkers looking for ways to eat green, Pita Grill is committed to the Kosher principles of ethical sourcing, humane treatment of animals, waste reduction, and an emphasis on whole, unprocessed foods, all of which align with many eco-friendly practices.
Not only is Kosher cooking sustainable and animal-friendly, but it also supports a vegetarian lifestyle, emphasizes individual responsibility and awareness of where food comes from, “and ensures animals are treated humanely,” Shani explained.
Kosher laws not only require that animals and birds are raised and slaughtered humanely, but because kosher meat is soaked and salted to remove blood, it reduces the risk of bacterial contamination.
In an era where convenience is king, Pita Grill’s kosher food delivery service, powered by Sauce, brings the flavors and freshness of the restaurant straight to its customers’ doors, with FREE delivery on all orders over $30.

Whether enjoying a quick business lunch in the small dining room or having a cozy family dinner at home, Pita Grill has carved out a special place in NYC's vibrant food scene, serving not just healthy, delicious, kosher food, but bringing a sense of community and tradition to the heart of the Big Apple.
